Coaching Classes in India 2026: Costs, Loan Options, and How to Pick the Right One
For 2026 the real coaching classes fees in India land like this: offline JEE or NEET coaching usually costs ₹70,000 to ₹1.5 lakh per year, and a full two-year batch at a big name like Aakash can run ₹2.8 lakh to ₹3.5 lakh. CA coaching costs ₹80,000 to ₹2 lakh online and ₹2 lakh to ₹3 lakh offline across all three levels. Online classes are the cheapest way in, and a single subject or level can start at a few thousand rupees.
Remember that the fee on the poster is not the full bill. For JEE and NEET in a hub like Kota, you also pay for hostel, food and travel, which can add another ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh a year. For CA, the coaching fee is separate from the official ICAI charges (about ₹11,300 Foundation, ₹18,000 Inter for both groups, ₹22,000 Final). Always ask for the total cost in writing before you pay.
Now the money part. A normal education loan mainly covers full degree courses, not short coaching. To fund coaching you have a few real options. Some banks and NBFCs give a special coaching loan, usually up to about ₹2 lakh, but the institute must be a known one running for at least three years. There is also the SBI Skill Loan, now up to ₹7.5 lakh, though it is meant for approved skill courses, not exam coaching. SBI education loan rates in 2026 sit around 8% to 10.25%, so check the exact rate for your loan size.
One scheme people confuse: the PM Vidyalaxmi scheme gives up to ₹10 lakh collateral-free, with a 3% interest subvention during the moratorium if family income is up to ₹8 lakh a year. But it is for degree admission in about the top 860 NIRF colleges, not for coaching classes. So treat it as your plan for college, not your plan for JEE or NEET prep.
To pick the right class, do not chase the biggest brand. First try the free scholarship tests, ANTHE and iACST at Aakash or ASAT at Allen, which can cut fees by up to 90 to 100%. Then compare batch size, the actual teachers (not the toppers on the banner), the doubt support and the refund rule. A smaller local class with a good teacher often beats a costly brand for the same result.
This is general information, check the official bank, ICAI or scheme website before you take any loan or pay any fee.
Win the free scholarship test first, then borrow only what is left, and always get the full cost in writing.
